1. Turn the analyser on
2. Calibrate by setting the oxygen percentage and exposing the sensor to fresh air for two minutes
3. Turn the cylinder on (crack the pressure) and establish a gentle flow
4. Take a reading by holding the sensor close to the cylinder valve
5. The display will freeze, showing an oxygen percentage accurate to one decimal point
